What is the layout of the guest house?

The street level entry contains the main floor of our guest house private rooms (a mixture of Family, Queen, Double and Single Rooms).  

Downstairs there are two small dorm rooms (4 Bed Unisex room and a 2 Bedroom Female only dorm) plus another Queen Room and Single Room which are used for longer term guests.  

The facilities downstairs such as kitchen, laundry and outdoor BBQ and pool area are shared with all guests.

Essentially we offer a guest-house experience upstairs, and hostel style rooms downstairs.

Is each room different?

The photos we display for each room type represent a typical room, and your room may be in a slightly different aspect. However, the amenities of the room will be similar or better, depending on which room is available.

We have two unique rooms which may be of interest here.

Who stays at the property?

We welcome all guests, anyone who wants clean, quiet and convenient accommodation at an affordable price, with a fantastic location for exploring Brisbane.

We get travellers from all around the world staying in the dorm rooms downstairs, and upstairs in the guest house is a mixture of leisure travellers, business travellers and families.

Is reception staffed 24 hours a day?

Reception is normally staffed by Ann the owner who knows Brisbane and local area very well.  Ann or her Relief Duty Manager are always available at reception to provide advice and directions, whether it be getting to the nearest cafe, or for booking day trips or activities in Brisbane.

Reception is open 7 days a week from 8.00am until 12.30pm. Arrangements are made outside these hours for late check-ins and check-outs using a pin code system and safe where keys can be left for late arriving guests.

A member of staff lives at the property, and can be reached by mobile phone for emergencies.

Is there free parking available?

Free parking is available on the street in non metered (free) parks directly outside the property. This is particularly convenient and cost effective if you are arriving by private car or rental car.

Are there any special rules?

  • As you would expect, smoking is not permitted inside the property or on the upstairs deck, but guests are welcome to smoke in the outdoor pool deck area.
  • To respect other guests, we ask that you are quiet and keep noise down when entering and exiting the property via the main hallway.
  • While guests are welcome to prepare food downstairs either in the kitchen or using the outdoor barbecue area, we ask that guests are quiet from 9.30pm.
  • There are no parties to be held on the property.  

In the interest of every guest’s right to personal and private enjoyment of their time spent at Bowen Terrace Accommodation, management advises there is a zero tolerance policy towards unsociable/unacceptable behaviour, the consequences of which will see the guest concerned being asked to leave the premises. No refunds will be made under these circumstances.

Is there FREE WiFi Internet?

Yes, FREE WiFi is available throughout the property, access information will be provided at check-in.

What about access after hours?

Access the front door 24 hours a day using our front door security code issued to guests by email when booking is made, as well confirmed on arrival.
