There is many benefits attending group fitness classes -they are a great way to stay motivated and I know personally I put in more effort when I have other people around me.
The Brisbane City Council runs fitness classes on a daily basis around Brisbane. Whatever your preference, you will find the perfect class – pilates, strength training, boot camp, tai chi, boxing to name but a few. Please head to their website for the full list of classes in a location near you.
On a Saturday morning head to Parkrun for a 5km walk or run. You will be surrounded by an encouraging, health focused community. This free, timed run is set up in a multitude of locations around Brisbane (and the rest of the world) at 7am every Saturday morning. Here you will be able to track your progression over the course of 5km which will help you to stay motivated and feeling fantastic.
Another option is to find a meetup group on Fitness Meetups. This great website puts you in touch with likeminded people. Here you will find hiking groups, cycling groups, city walking groups, mums who run, plus size groups, weight loss groups, yoga and meditation groups – the list here really is endless.
